A Blue Origin spokesperson said Sierra will remain a partner on Orbital Reef but declined to say in what capacity. Last week, Bezos told Blue Origin employees that longtime Amazon executive Dave Limp would replace Blue Origin's current CEO by year's end. In 2021, Blue Origin announced its partnership to build what it envisions as a "business park in space" with Sierra Space, a spinoff from defense contractor Sierra Nevada Corp. Blue Origin secured $3.4 billion from NASA this year for that lander as part of the agency's Artemis program. Blue Origin said at the time it planned to privately invest "well north" of that amount.

REUTERS/Ivan Pierre Aguirre/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsWASHINGTON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said on Wednesday it has closed a probe into Blue Origin's 2022 New Shepard rocket failure, forcing a redesign of the vehicle's engine and other fixes before the company can resume its suborbital launch business. Blue Origin must take 21 corrective actions before its reusable New Shepard rocket can return to flight, including a "redesign of engine and nozzle components to improve structural performance during operation as well as organizational changes," the FAA said. The FAA, which regulates launch site safety and oversees mishap investigations led by rocket companies, cited the same conclusion as Blue Origin's in its statement on Wednesday. REUTERS/Go Nakamura/File photo Acquire Licensing RightsWASHINGTON, Sept 13 (Reuters) - A federal moratorium on commercial spaceflight safety regulations should be extended to support more innovation in the space sector, U.S. The fast-growing sector since 2004 has been shielded from federal safety regulations by what is widely called a "learning period." "Now is not the time to impose new regulations on commercial space," Cruz said, speaking on the sidelines of an industry conference in Washington. The moratorium, established by the Commercial Space Launch Amendments Act of 2004, was most recently extended in 2015. The law requires private space companies that send humans into space to have passengers sign "informed consent" documents acknowledging the absence of federal safety regulations.

CNN —There are at least 45 good reasons to cut back on added sugar, according to a new study. Copious research has shown the negative effects of excessive sugar intake on health, which has informed recommendations to limit consumption of “free” or added sugar to less than 10% of a person’s daily caloric intake. “This means that whole, intact grains don’t cause the same spikes in blood sugar that we experience when we eat simple sugars. A doughnut has around 15 to 30 grams of sugar, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Cooking and baking at home more often is one of the best ways to reduce sugar intake, Aggarwal said.
Blue Origin likes to ensure passengers tuck into breakfast before launching to the edge of space. The Hagles told Insider about their experience of flying with Blue Origin. In the days before a rocket launch, Blue Origin passengers stay in the Astronaut Village campsite in the Texas desert, around 15 miles away from the company's launch site near Van Horn. Blue Origin laid a full spread out for them, the couple said. During the interview, they also agreed with fellow Blue Origin astronaut William Shatner about space trips triggering feelings of grief and intense emotions.

Here is what likely awaits in the case:WHERE DO THINGS STAND IN FTX'S BANKRUPTCY CASE? About 130 FTX affiliates have filed for bankruptcy in Delaware, and the company has selected a new CEO, bankruptcy attorneys at Sullivan & Cromwell and financial advisers at Alvarez & Marsal. WHAT OTHER RISKS DO FTX CUSTOMERS FACE? The bankruptcy might result in the publication of FTX customers' names, email addresses and transaction history. The courts' preference for transparency are at odds with crypto customers' expectations of anonymity.
NetflixWhite matter ruling how we think and feelBrains are made up of two types of material: white matter and gray matter. The new model from Forkel and her colleagues changes that, giving white matter a much bigger role. One example of how white matter connects unexpected regions of the brain is the incredible injury of a railway worker 150 years ago. White matter may organize the regionsIt's also possible that it is the white matter that directs which region does what in the gray matter, rather than the other way around. This analysis suggests that these studies will have to be rethought to look at the brain as a whole.
CNN interviewed him in June about the book, his trip to space with the Jeff Bezos-backed space tourism company Blue Origin, and what’s next for the 91-year-old. William Shatner: Fifty-five or 60 years ago I read a book called “Silent Spring” by Rachel Carson. Shatner: The whole idea here is to get people accustomed to going to space, as if it’s like going to the Riviera. The song “So Fragile, So Blue,” is very much about my experience in space. And then I have my book, called “Boldly Go,” coming out in the fall.
Blue Origin suffered a mishap Monday during an uncrewed launch of its New Shepard capsule. A rocket failure roughly a minute after liftoff forced the company to perform an emergency abort midflight, triggering the spacecraft's escape system. Blue Origin officials confirmed the launch anomaly on Twitter, adding that the escape system "performed as designed." Blue Origin via APMonday's launch marked the 23rd flight of New Shepard. Blue Origin has conducted six suborbital missions to date with humans on board.
